Prof. M. Sai Baba, Outstanding Scientist and formerly Director of Resources Management Group, IGCAR, Kalpakkam and Senior Professor, Homi Bhabha National Institute. He has also served as Coordinating Dean and Dean (Student Affairs) of HBNI at IGCAR.
Currently he is “TV Raman Pai Chair Professor” at NIAS and working in the domains of Science Communication and Risk Communication.
Dr. Sai Baba carried out postdoctoral work at Texas A&M University, USA and at Research Centre, Julich, Germany. He has worked as Guest Scientist at Nuclear Research Centre, Julich, Germany.
Dr. Sai Baba has displayed commendable leadership in providing access to Scientific Information Resources with considerable ease, catering to the varied needs of researchers and large community of students. Using innovative and advanced principles of information technology, he has focussed on enhancing the access to information resources at IGCAR. Development of various institutional repositories, building knowledge domains on various aspects of nuclear technology aiming to empower meaningful information retrieval.
Four of his students obtained PhD. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Amrita University, Coimbatore and Member of Board of Studies of School in Physical & Nuclear Chemistry and Chemical Oceanography, Andhra University. He continues to be a member of the Editorial Committee of the International Journal of Nuclear Knowledge Management.
He has co-authored several publications and contributed to chapters in books besides editing six books.
He was conferred Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by Dr MGR University, Education and Research Institute, Chennai.
