Title - Engaging users in Today’s Libraries

Abstract

In every era, libraries face a new challenge in how to engage and attract users. The current Information Age has its own distinguishing features and brings with it a new set of problems that libraries seek to solve. The existential crisis that they face is staying relevant in the deluge of information enclosing us.

Our presentation suggests a few ways in which libraries can remain conspicuous among their patrons. Primarily, libraries are “places”, in which the individual and the community can intermingle. They are also centres for lifelong learning and keeping oneself abreast of the last happenings. And finally, the special environment and experience they foster are still unmatched in many ways. We will try to focus on each of the themes.
